In this study, we have addressed the school recess and its unfoldings beyond its duration, seeking to understand the school recess as part of the school routine, connected with the social function of the school, as well as a fruitful moment that can enrich the Physical Education teacher's performance. Through a theoretical essay, we have sought to demonstrate that recess time can represent a reference for school PE and for all its actors, teachers, pupils and students, stimulating new ways of incorporating body practices within the school.
