STUDENT-ATHLETE: A REFLECTION BASED ON THE BRAZILIAN OLYMPIC COMMITTEE'S SPORTS DEVELOPMENT MODEL

The present study aimed to reflect on the development of student-athletes based on the Sports Development Model proposed by the Brazilian Olympic Committee (COB) as a theoretical model. Throughout the text, the student-athlete and their challenges when following a dual career are discussed, as well as the dual career in Brazil and in the world. Finally, it is suggested the development of national legislation and institutional policies that promote access, permanence and finalization of the graduation for these student-athletes.
