This article presents a qualitative meta-analysis of undergraduate final papers from Dance undergraduate courses of federal universities in the state of Rio Grande do Sul/Brazil. The main objective was to understand which were the most used methodological strategies in these final papers, when their themes invested in Dance creation. The corpus of analysis of this investigation comprised a total of 73 undergaduate final papers, and resulted in three synthesis-ideas: every undergraduate final paper comprises in itself a methodology of Dance creation; tendency towards bricolage and the artist-researcher as a bricoleur of formative experiences; ethno-somatic inclination of Dance research. The text concludes itself in tensions between the domain of the written word in research on artistic practices and the field of Dance.
