The relationship between passion and motivation for sports in schoolchildren was analyzed. The 173 participants answered a sociodemographic questionnaire, the Sport Motivation Scale II and the Passion Scale. Kolmogorov-Smirnov tests, Pearson's correlation and multiple regression analysis were used for data analysis. The results showed that harmonious passion has a negative prediction on external regulation and a positive prediction on introjected, identified and intrinsic regulation. On the other hand, obsessive passion presented a positive prediction about demotivation and external regulation. It was concluded that harmonious passion is positively associated with autonomous and controlled motivation, while obsessive passion with extrinsic motivation and demotivation.
