Abstract

With an unprecedented character, the objective of the study was to identify and analyze
empirical studies about the teaching, experience, learning and training processes of
football in the Brazilian context, and to investigate their dialogue with the presupposed
concepts that underlie the emerging trends in Sport Pedagogy. A systematic review was
carried out in national journals, between the years 2001 and 2021. The 12 selected articles
pointed to three main themes: teaching methods; training and performance of coaches;
and practice of athletes. The findings lead us to conclude that there is still a real need for
scientific and practical development of the modality, in search of an increasingly effective
and coherent practice according to the objectives of the different contexts.
