Abstract

The present work focused on investigating studies on pedagogical practices in capoeira from the national scientific production, aiming to understand which aspects have been discussed, possible contributions and/or difficulties. A total of 5,192 articles were analyzed through a “state of the art” survey, with 0.9% referring to capoeira. Of these, only 31.2% were from the pedagogical area. It was concluded that capoeira occupies a prominent place among studies on fights, but the pedagogical area is not the most valued among articles on capoeira. This results in little material to think about the teaching and learning process, mainly because they not always involve the characters responsible for disseminating the knowledge, such as capoeira masters and teachers.
