“LEISURE THEORIES” BOOK REVIEW

Abstract

This review aims the critical evaluation of the book “Leisure Theories”, ten years after its publication. The book, edited by Giuliano Gomes de Assis Pimentel, has six chapters that directly address leisure in the light of different theoretical matrices, with an emphasis on the Brazilian production on the subject. The work results in a relevant editorial initiative with systematic reflections by experienced researchers in the field of leisure studies. The origin of the articles is marked by intellectual vigor and dense conceptual analysis, in addition to patente methodological coherence. Therefore, it is an intense collaboration to the contemporary debate on leisure theories, preserving its relevance after a decade.
