RISK FACTORS FOR CARDIOVASCULAR DISEASE IN OBESE ADOLESCENTS OF THREE HEALTH DISTRICTS OF GOIÂNIA

The aim of the study was to identify the additional indicators of risks for cardiovascular diseases in obese adolescents. 42 adolescents participated in the study, both sexes, from 13 to 16 years old. It was evaluated the body composition, analysis of the biochemical indexes, blood pressure, physical activity level, diseases in the family and dietary habit. The triglycerides were normal in 90%, but the cholesterol and LDL-c were increased in more that 30%. About 21% of the adolescents had hypertension. Approximately 36% were low active and 64% sedentary. They presented inadequate dietary habit. The obese adolescents of this study presented additional indicators for cardiovascular diseases; purpose the need of specific cares for these individuals.
