WHAT DOES THE THEMATIC ORAL HISTORY TELL US?

The article sought to analyze the historical development of the graduation course in Physical Education of UFLA. Thematic Oral History was used as a method of analysis. Observing the collated data, it was inferred that the course in question presented a set of catalysts for its development, emphasizing in the first moment the activities of teaching, research and extension, as fundamental for its development, in spite of the reduced number of teachers who worked in it. It can also be verified that the same in it’s along course established an organic relationship with the city of Lavras, and sports were agent to dynamize this relationship, in spite of the risks of incurring in "epistemological reductionism", when conceiving it as a purpose formative for the area.
