The study aims at understanding how children education is processed in extra school space/time, from 1930 to 1940 in Brazil. It uses as sources the periodicals of Physical Education with great circulation in the country: Revista de Educação Física (do Exército) and the magazine Educação Physica, that present several suggestions about children education. It is supported by the Cultural History seeking for obtaining, through the materiality of pressed materials, how the people who used to write for the periodicals produced and circulated the prescriptions about the ideal of children education. It concludes that such space aimed at assistance and recreation and mainly at children education, as a way to complement the school education and prepare the children for a new time.Downloads
