THE TEXTBOOK IN SCHOOL PHYSICAL EDUCATION: view of teachers and students

The aim of the study was to identify possibilities and difficulties that Physical Education (PE) teachers have to use the textbook in their academic practice and verify the involvement of students in activities that use this kind of material. The action research method was used, with the participation of teachers of the last years of middle school. The teachers were favorable to the use of the textbook, provided they have freedom to make changes in the material. As for the students, there was a better acceptance in short tasks.
