This paper focuses on Physical Education Teaching in public schools. In this qualitative study, we report observations of the teaching spaces in ten schools of the Teresópolis metropolitan area. We found serious limitations in the infrastructural conditions of these schools. The last section discusses these findings emphasizing the relationships between material dimensions and pedagogical practice in physical education.
