Recovering contributions to understand the process for the detection of sports talent.

Abstract

The search, identification and development of young talents in the sporting environment has been given prominence in the inner sporting sciences. Some difficulties are observed in this process, mainly as to how to determine parameters that allow an earlier and more trustworthy diagnosis for the organization and guidance of the sporting education. With this in mind, this text is aimed at reconstructing the meaning of the word ‘talent’ and next understand the processes or models for the identification of the talented youngster, as well as the limitations and difficulties found in the sports orientation and, lastly, emphatically explore the constitutional and environmental factors having influence in the detection of high performance levels sports practitioners.
