This study aims at discussing the curriculum reform held in the State of Goiás in the years 2004 to 2010. It was identified the work developed by physical educationand analyzed the fundamentalsand the constituent elements of the proposed curriculum. It was held a document analysis of Curriculum Reorientation of Public Elementary School of the Education of the State of Goiás. The curriculum proposal appears to have beenconductedin a decentralized manner, in other words, from thedialogue withthe school teachersandits foundation is anchored in acritical approachtoeducation andphysical education. It is recommended that other studies are performed, trying to analyze empirically the impact of this curriculum policy in school reality of the State of Goiás.
