Abstract

The aim of this paper is to produce a theoretical reflection that contemplates the understanding of mediatization as a historical process resulting from post-industrial (VERÓN, 1997) and cultural (MATA, 1999) transformations in modern societies. It is the intention of this research to raise a discussion that allows us to understand this phenomenon that involves media, society and social processes as a transformative agent (HEPP, 2014) of interactions, relations with the media, making media and establishing new practices and a distinct logic in the production of meaning in a multiplatform context, from the transition from media society to mediatization society (FAUSTO NETO, 2008).
