Abstract

Spain has happened of being an exportingcountry of manpower to a country ofimmigrants’ receipt. At present, the fact thatthe foreign population in Spain overcomesalready 3,5 millon persons and the continuosproceeding flows, principally of Africa and LatinAmerica have intensified the political and socialdebate. In this article I approach the topic ofthe immigration from the perspective of themass media: How the immigrant arerepresented in spanish press and what role theyadopt in the process towards themulticulturalism, of mediador, or of breedingplayer of stereotypes.
