Abstract

The litter shelter a huge diversity of arthropods, they are part of a group that performs many ecosystems and ecological functions are important for the conservation and management of biological reserves. This study was carried out in Sierra Ecological Station of the Araras and aimed to compare the composition in morpho-species, wealth and abundance of arthropod fauna in litter of two environments: Savana and Mata de Gallery. For a transect sampling was limited to 120 m divided into six points of 1 m2 for each environment, made to 15 m from the edge of one of the tracks. The total wealth of arthropods found in areas of Savana and Mata de Gallery was 47 morpho-species abundance with total of 381 individuals. There was a correlation between the opening of canopy and volume of litter in the two areas studied (the Pearson Correlation, R = 0302). The volume of litter and the opening of the canopy did not influence significantly in wealth (r2 = 0.040; p = 0.833), nor the abundance of species (r2 = 0.099, p = 0.624). The orders Lepidoptera, Mesogastropoda and Diptera were specific and Savana Lumbriculida Mata only of mata of the gallery. Although the total numbers in the savana had greater wealth and abundance, these values were not significant.
