Geosophy of Ibn Tufayl

Abstract
For the understanding of geographical existence, a geosophical approach to geographicity was explored through the literary work The Self-Taught Philosopher by Ibn Tufayl (1105-1186). To do so, the work of the world and the world of the work were circulated through historicity and the exegesis of the narrative. Thus, the epic journey of Hayy, marooned and isolated, in his journey – from the natural being to the geographical being – to understand the sensory world, the intelligible world, and the divine world, is conceived. Finally, self-taught geography is woven through the life of the protagonist, through the geosophy of his existence towards becoming an intellectual.
