Abstract

Almost 60 years after the release of his first book Why Literature? (1969), Luiz Costa Lima still dedicates himself, without repeating himself, to the theme. The weight of age brought only physical material to feed the great critical flames that scrutinize, year after year, the literature and the knowledge contained in it. In this interview we confront a more mature and aware Luiz of the rush between history, literature and philosophy, these, trainers of the great instance that had been his concern throughout the time he spent graduating and training several of the many current university professors
