Colette chronicler of Le Matin: traces of record and testimony of the First World War in the writing of a writer-journalist

Colette was an important novelist and journalist of the early 20th century whose productions achieved notoriety for testifying the new age of technological, urban advance and the world wars of that century. In her chronicles, it’s possible to recognise testimony elements, arising from her experiences and observations of unique social and historical moments. This article is dedicated to the study of Colette’s literary writing in the pages of Le Matin, in 1915, at the beginning period of the First World War, in the light of theories of the chronicle genre (Thérenty, 2011; 2019; Vaillant, 2015) and of critical apparatus on the presence of testimonies in literary productions (Felman, 2000; Marco, 2004; Maciel, 2016; Ginzburg, 2011).
