The ENGLISH THE EYES OF THE DYING

This paper demonstrates how some Brazilian samba songs, mainly the ones from the 1930s, criticize the excessive use of English words by Brazilians. This attempt to defend the Brazilian culture, nevertheless, contributes to highlight the prejudice against the underpriviledged classes.
