The possibility of a formal semantic theory explaining the
meaning expansion phenomena inherent to the differentiation of meaning
lexical meanings and the validity of a “division of labor” between theory
semantics and pragmatic theory that can, alternatively, account for them.
These are questions about the delimitability of lexical meaning, its
independence or not in the face of cognition and historical-cultural crystallization facts
of meanings, as well as their translatability through parameters
elementary and finite.
