Abstract

Under a jungian approach, this work intends to analyse, in a special way, two literary pieces by Yêda Schmaltz - A alquimia dos nós (The alchemy of the knots) and Atalanta - books of poems which carry much influence of the swiss psychologist, Jung.

This analysis is particularlly concerned with two mytical characters strongly present throughout the author's work - Penelope and Atalanta -true archetypical patterns of women in different stages of their psychological maturing.
