Libertinagem, liberation and a dialectical tension in everyday life: some notes on Manuel Bandeira’s lyric

From Evocação de Recife as a starting point, the present article analyzes
“Poética”, Libertinagem(Manuel Bandeira), in the effort to characterize a
founding paradox of the lyrical present in this book: liberation / libertine. Next, the poem “Cunhantã” reveals discreetly the violent social relations, embodied in Brazilian daily life. As a point of arrival, the concept of a dialectical image is taken to think the strength of Libertinagem´s lyricism.
