Abstract

Literature and poetry have always been attentive to situations of conflict in society. At the present moment, where we see the problems caused by wars, xenophobia and prejudice, more than ever, literature must occupy its space dealing with humanistic and pacifist issues. Without falling in to the pamphleteer and the dogmatic, always taking care that it must be art, poetry plays an important role in the difficult times in which we live: that of sustaining humanism.
