In this article, we discuss the argumentative component of the messianic discourse, understood as a discourse whose configuration refers to the framework of the biblical myth of messianism. Articulating the contributions of French Semiotics and Rhetoric, we seek to explore the concepts of ethos, pathos and logos while examining the relations between enunciator and enunciate in/by the focused discourse. Starting with the theoretical approach, followed by the analysis of two texts, we tried to outline what we call “rhetoric of the messianic discourse”, that is, a set of elements that characterize the argumentative component of such a discourse, beyond the religious field.
