FORTUNA, AMIZADE E JUSTIÇA NA HÉCUBA DE EURÍPIDES
LUCK, FRIENDSHIP, AND JUSTICE IN EURIPIDES’ HECUBA
Abstract
Based on the analysis of Hecuba, an important tragedy written by Euripides, its social and political context and the fundamental questions of Greek ethicsl, this paper seeks to answer the a question that reverberates throughout the play: moral and legal judgment must take into account the contingency experienced by the parties and the judge? The conclusions point to our agreement with those who advocate the need, both in law, politics, economics and in general ethical knowledge, to guarantee each person with the goods and resources for their well-being, whose deprivation can tarnish their understanding of the world and sense of justice.
