A metodologia neoclássica da teoria do capital humano: Uma análise sobre Theodore Schultz e Gary Becker

Abstract

A teoria do capital humano teve como precursores: Theodore W. Schultz, considerado o pai do capital humano, e Gary Becker que ampliou a abordagem, apesar das pesadas críticas dos economistas da época. Ganhadores do Nobel de economia, o trabalho de Schultz, voltado à economia agrícola, estava preocupado em entender a economia de ser pobre, e Becker, através de pesquisas, preocupou-se com o lado social verificando investimentos na formação dos trabalhadores, na saúde, na migração e principalmente no retorno direto e indireto da educação. Ambos os autores contribuíram de forma distinta para a teoria do capital humano, entretanto de forma entrelaçada.
