The purpose of this work is to analyze the formative value of philosophy, showing how much this discipline can contribute to the integral education of students, and how PIBID (the Teaching Initiation Scholarship Program, in portuguese) is part of this formative project, not only preparing future professors, but also contributing to the formation of future researchers who will integrate the Graduate Programs in Philosophy. The research was elaborated with data from two years of subprojects in the area of Philosophy, and the results indicate that the well-conducted Program raises a philosophical approach, perhaps the most essential of all, that of the nexus between theory and practice.
