Abstract

This study had the aim of evaluating substrates to growing of jenipapo seedlings in nursery conditions. The substrates were: garden soil; garden soil and carbonized rice husks in the proportions 1:1, 1:2 and 2:1; garden soil and cattle manure in the proportions 1:1 and 2:1; garden soil, carbonized rice husks, and cattle manure in the proportions 1:1:1 and 1:2:1; garden soil, carbonized rice husks, and sand in proportion 1:1:1:1. All substrates were fertilized with single superphosphate, in a dosage of 3.0 kg.m-3 substrate. The experimental design was completely randomized with ten treatments, and three replications of ten seedlings each. The evaluated variables were height of seedlings, number of leaves, stem base diameter, top and root dry matter, and the relation top dry matter/root dry matter. The substrates based on garden soil and cattle manure, in the proportion 1:1, and garden soil, carbonized rice husks and cattle manure, in the proportion 1:1:1, provided better growing rates to the jenipapo seedlings
