Its goal is to publish, through evaluation in the double blind ad hoc reviewers and members of the Scientific Council, unpublished work resulting from theoretical studies and research on education, including, mainly, the following topics: Cultural and educational processes; State Policies and History of Education; Training, professionalization and educational practices; Education, labor and social movements; and Fundamentals of educational processes.

Currently, this journal is evaluated by CAPES as A2 and indexed in the following databases: Edubase, Iresie, BBE-CIBEC/INEP/MEC, IBICT/SEER, DOAJ, Latindex, CLASE, Ulrich’s Periodicals Directory, EZB (Electronic Journals Directory) and Redalyc.

For V. 50, N. 3, December of 2025, The Editorial Committee elected as theme 50 years of the Revista Inter-ação of the Federal University of Goiás (UFG). The submission period for this dossier is from 07/18/2025 to 09/30/2025.

The Revista Inter-Ação, published by the Faculty of Education at UFG, will celebrate its 50th anniversary in 2025. Founded in 1975 amidst the military dictatorship, the journal emerged as a platform for disseminating educational research and philosophical reflections. Despite censorship, it became a space for debates aimed at overcoming authoritarianism. Following the re-democratization of the 1980s, the journal gained editorial freedom and reflected significant changes at UFG, including the adoption of the serial system and the restructuring of the Pedagogy program, which had previously focused on training education specialists. As public institutions were progressing in guaranteeing rights and promoting justice, neoliberalism emerged, minimizing the state's social action and cutting public resources for education. To continue publishing, the magazine relied on sponsorship from unions and associations. In the 2000s, democratic and popular governments helped public institutions regain the minimum conditions necessary for functioning. Research, reflections, and publications became the journal's editorial focus. However, in 2016, this progress was interrupted, and resources were cut. This made it difficult for public educational institutions to function and curtailed research questioning the reactionary nature of the government and society. Currently, despite having an elected government with democratic agendas, the Journal faces a conservative Congress and privatization pressures in education.

In this sense, the work should relate to the following theme:

Abstract: This dossier will focus on the trajectory of the Revista Inter-Ação and scientific publishing in education over the last 50 years; it will receive articles that present critical reflections on the performance of the Faculty of Education of the Federal University of Goiás, in the face of the recurrent reactionary turn of Brazilian society in the last five decades; that deal with the role of FE/UFG in the training of undergraduates and postgraduates who have worked and are working in different spaces and institutions in the country.
