Abstract

This paper aims to analyze the Uruguayan intellectuals debate about Latin America and the United States relationships post Second World War. Particularly, intends to focus on two Uruguayan left reformist exponents: Emilio Frugoni and Carlos Quijano. They crossed their gaze, criticized North American actions in Latin America, dedicated special attention to revolutionary movements in Guatemala, Bolivia and Cuba, and also in Brazil’s João Goulart government. They shared the same points of view about advocating democratic channels for transformation in Latin American countries, mainly in Uruguay.
