A VENICE IN THE RIO DE JANEIRO´S HINTERLAND: THE RIVERS AND THE CANALS IN CAMPO DOS GOITACAZES

Abstract

In " A Venice in the rio de janeiro´s hinterland: the rivers and the canals in Campo dos Goitacazes" marked the importance of the rivers and channels as necessary means for the formation of an area and of the constitution of exchanges and changes. As such a social process involved multiple agents and different interests, it can be considered as founder of territories in Campos and, in this line, spaces where several conflicts were sketched around the use of the fluvial spaces.
