Abstract

The article analyzes the minimizes and exclusion of the captives in the historiographys representations in the Empire and the Republic, despite its importance in the southern past. It argues the historiography restoration, and its direction, of 1930 until today, the paper of the african and captive afro-descendant in the South, from the main assays on the subject in portuguese.
