Abstract

The main objective of this research is to reconstruct the activity carried out by the official Juan de Robles in the central territory of Neogranada in order to understand his role in the definition of a more solid constructive model with quality and permanence guarantees. This fundamental purpose also implies understanding the precarious situation of the temples of doctrine in the 16th century, reflecting on the incidence of the lack of masons and carpenters in Neogranadino soil and determining the actions that led to the definition of the constructive model and identifying its actors. These objectives are concretized in the definition of a traditional historical research method, based on the analytical-synthetic, in which the inductive part is used for the knowledge of the particular facts as a vehicle for the establishment of general conclusions. Conclusions that certify that the conditions for the completion of the works and the final definition of the constructive model of these temples were promoted by Robles.
