Abstract

This paper starts with the question: why to study the Ancient Iberian Peninsula in Brazil? Firstly, this study adopts an externalist viewpoint of the science, a perspective that recognizes the importance of social and historical contexts in guiding the academic research. Secondly, we present a brief narrative about the History teaching in Brazil. In this account, the History of Iberian Peninsula is emphasized as fundamental for a better understanding of Brazilian society.
