Abstract

This paper provides a panoramic analysis of the symbolic and mental transformations that take place in the Late Middle Ages. The journey to the Saint Patrick’s Purgatory acts as cornestone owing to its implications, effects and uses. Ramon de Perellós was one of the subjects who employed it, highlighting the genesis of a new form of life in accordance with a worldview that was being transformed troughout the late medieval crisis.
