the idea of the article is to find out, from one hand, what kind of stories and memories were introduced into the circulation in Curitiba in 90-ies and at the beginning of the XXI-st century and what was its relation towards the current city development project, and, from the other hand, what was the role of education and of the official curriculum in particular, in this project. We came to the conclusion that there were various city stories at the period of our interest. It indicates the presence of constant dispute between the identity of the city and that of the citizen. The stories selected by the established groups were of the major possibility to circulate to the detriment of so called outsiders (Elias). The official curriculum of the municipal education network reinforced the apolitical, sometimes prejudiced character of the city development project.Downloads
