Abstract

The article analyzes the quarrel politics on the slavery in Brazil in the first half of century XIX. Is considered that the members of the house of representatives and senators of the Empire of Brazil had presented as picture of references an ideal of civilization associated with the representations of the european society. They had not condemned the regimen of enslaved work, legitimizing it under the economic, moral optics and politics.
