Abstract

This article seeks to investigate the goiana agrarian society; more specifically that of the bigger cattie for slaughter farmers of the State of Goiás. This preeminent section of the regional agrarian economy was legalized in 1940, with the organization of the Sociedade Goiana de Pecuária (SGP), which was born inside of the Vargas unions legislation and was framed in the corporate formal of the Estado Novo (New State). Adjusted to the profile of the relationship between State and society in the Brazil after 1930, it (SGP) becomes a collaboration agency with the government authorities in the solutions of problems related to the cattie businesses in Goiás. As a representative group of the great farmers' interest, the association of rural producer's become an access channel of that social class to the power.
