Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is typed in Word for Windows 6.0 or 7.0 or compatible, Calibri 12 font, 1.5 line spacing, 0.6 spacing between paragraphs (after), first line indent of 1.25; block quotations indented 4 cm to the left, Calibri 11 font, single-spaced, no spacing between paragraphs, and one line before and after the quotation. Between 15 to 20 A4 pages with top and left margins of 3 cm, and bottom and right margins of 2 cm; references use italics for emphasis; italics are used instead of underlining (except for URLs); with figures and tables inserted in the text, not at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal.
  • If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.

Author Guidelines

The magazine Historia Revista is continually open to receive articles and reviews. It is mandatory that the author visits the site ttp://www.revistas.ufg.br/index.php/historia and register to the system before submitting contributions. If already registered, please login to the system and follow the 5 steps before the submission.

 

Only articles in accordance with the rules will be accepted.

 

RULES OF PUBLICATION

1. Authors

Authors should hold, at least, a Masters’ degree level to be eligible. Articles by Masters students shall be considered, as long as co-authored with the tutor Professor.

Under no circumstances the name(s) of the author(s) shall appear, nor any other references. There is a proper area in the magazine’s digital platform where such information should be filled.


2. Writings

Articles and reviews must be original, unique and non-published, and could be written either in Portuguese, Spanish, French or English.

Writings must be typed in a text editor “Word 97-2003”, typeface “Times New Roman”, size 12, space 1.5.

Articles shall have up to 15-30 pages. 

Conferences and interviews shall have 15 pages, maximum. 

Book reviews shall have 8 pages, maximum (books must have been published 2 years before the review submission if a Brazilian book, or 3 years, if a foreign book). Book reviews should not contain title, but the complete bibliographical reference must be included.

Articles must have a title and an abstract both in Portuguese and English. The abstract should be 12 lines long, maximum and contain 3 keywords in Portuguese and English, separated by commas.

The abstract should be placed at the beginning of the text and should be maximum 12 lines long, followed by 3 keywords.

The title, abstract and keywords in English should appear at the end of the text, before the notes.

As per quotations, it is recommended to use the NBR-10520/2003 rule. The entries of authors in the references must be identical to the quotation in the text. Only the author's last name initial letter should be written in capital letter, followed by the year of publication of the piece consulted, e.g. Bernardo (1991);

In case the name of the author and the year of publication are inside brackets, it should be written in capital letters, separated by a coma, e.g.: (BERNARDO, 1991)

Endnotes must only be used to explanatory issues, automatically numbered.

References must be listed in alphabetical order at the end of the article (after the notes), in accordance with the ABNT-NBR-6023-2003 standards.

Books: BERNARDO, João. Economia dos conflitos sociais. São Paulo: Cortez, 1991.

Articles: GUARINELLO, Norberto Luiz. História Científica, História Contemporânea e História Cotidiana. Revista Brasileira de História. São Paulo, v. 24, n. 48, p. 13-38, 2004.

Quotations no longer than three (3) lines are not to be highlighted in blocks. They shall keep the same typeface from the text, within quotes. They must also have the indication of the author’s last name in capital letters, followed by the publication year and by the number of the page from the piece consulted, e.g: (BERNARDO, 1991, p. 30)

Quotations longer than three (3) lines must be highlighted in receded blocks, coinciding the left margin with paragraph entrance and the right margin with the text. The same text lettering must be used, but on a smaller size, (11), without quotation marks and simple spacing;

Frames, tables, and pictures must be numbered (with their respective subtitles), preferentially included in the text;

Texts submitted shall be judged by two referees: a member of the Advisory Board and /or ad hoc, appointed by the Editorial Board.

The Editorial Commission will not accept texts not in accordance with the rules established above. Published articles and the accuracy of bibliographic references are exclusively of the authors’ responsibility. The editors will not be responsible for the essays nor for concepts conveyed by the contributors.

 

Dossiê "Tecer a história: a tapestry da história local e regional"

“Se queres ser universal, começa por pintar a tua aldeia”. (Tolstói, 1897)

 

Assim como uma tapeçaria é composta por inúmeros fios entrelaçados para formar um padrão ou imagem, as histórias regionais e locais são tecidas a partir de múltiplas narrativas, eventos, memórias e perspectivas, resultando em um quadro dinâmico e multifacetado. Partindo dessa metáfora, este dossiê propõe uma reflexão crítica sobre a história local e regional, desafiando a compreensão tradicional que trata esses espaços como meras delimitações geográficas ou administrativas. Além disso, busca-se problematizar a ideia de que as histórias regionais ou locais são apêndices ou desdobramentos da história nacional ou global. Em vez disso, este dossiê explora o local e o regional como construções historiográficas, categorias analíticas que emergem das escolhas metodológicas, fontes e questionamentos específicos dos historiadores. Propomos avançar na discussão sobre como esses recortes são concebidos, representados e utilizados politicamente, destacando as múltiplas camadas de significação que permeiam a produção do conhecimento histórico. Sob essa ótica, as relações de poder em uma configuração identificada como local ou regional envolvem práticas que podem se conectar com esferas nacionais ou globais, mas que não estão necessariamente subordinadas a elas de forma determinante. O local e o regional devem ser entendidos como processos culturais dinâmicos, nos quais se concretizam ações, discursos e práticas sociais. Com essa abordagem, buscamos evitar a essencialização das identidades locais ou regionais, propondo uma reflexão sobre as relações de poder, saber e força que moldam espaços e sujeitos. A região, assim, não é vista como uma entidade preexistente, mas como uma formação em constante construção, emergindo das dinâmicas sociais que definem suas fronteiras geográficas e processos identitários. Por fim, este dossiê tem como objetivo aprofundar as contribuições de diversos autores ao estudo da história local e regional, promovendo uma análise crítica tanto do ponto de vista teórico quanto metodológico, além de explorar suas implicações para a historiografia contemporânea. Buscamos incentivar novas interpretações que desafiem concepções tradicionais, estimulando um debate enriquecedor sobre a pluralidade das experiências históricas e suas ressignificações no contexto atual.
