Líderes académicos de enfermería y el desarrollo de sucesores: un estudio fenomenológico

Resumen

Objetivos: comprender la experiencia de la sucesión de liderazgo en enfermería en la vida académica diaria y describir las estrategias adoptadas para el desarrollo de sucesores, desde la perspectiva de enfermeras líderes académicas. Métodos: estudio fenomenológico, cuyos datos se recopilaron de docentes de enfermería considerados líderes, seleccionados mediante la técnica de muestreo de bola de nieve. Cada participante indicó a tres personas con perfiles de liderazgo de diferentes estados brasileños. Se realizaron dieciséis entrevistas con docentes de ocho estados entre mayo y octubre de 2018. Las reuniones se grabaron, transcribieron y analizaron mediante el método de análisis de la estructura del fenómeno situado. Resultados: dieciséis profesores de enfermería de ocho estados brasileños, representantes de instituciones públicas de educación superior, participaron en el estudio. Fueron nominados por sus pares por su perfil de liderazgo. Los resultados se dividieron en las siguientes categorías: “Reuniones que inspiran y liberan para el desarrollo del liderazgo”; “Formando futuros líderes en el trabajo diario”; y “Se han sembrado nuevas semillas, y el futuro les pertenece”. Conclusión: la interacción entre docentes en diferentes etapas del desarrollo de habilidades de liderazgo es clave para garantizar que los líderes sean capaces de manejar la sucesión, especialmente en entornos sin estrategias formales para el desarrollo de futuros líderes.
