The nursing process in the syllabus of technical nursing schools

Abstract

The nursing process, defined as a methodological instrument for caring, must be developed by every member of the nursing staff, so that it can be effective. The present article consists of a documental study aiming at examining the syllabus of pedagogic political projects of technical nursing schools in João Pessoa – PB as for the teaching and the nursing process application, the participation of these professionals is fundamentally important for the care system, function of the schools being to prepare them appropriately. The study was developed in the year 2006. The data were analyzed focusing the qualitative method, using the technique of content analysis. It was verified that there are no indications of the teaching of the nursing process in any discipline in the syllabus of the participant schools of the study, although there is indication of their application in few disciplines of some schools. So, it is a duty to the schools to revalue their syllabus, in way to insert this thematic to qualify better the nursing technicians to give systematized and qualified care.
