Embracement with home risk rating: nursing professional’s evaluation of an emergency care service

It is a descriptive study in a qualitative approach, which objective was to analyze how and professional nurse in a hospital emergency room in Santa Catarina State evaluate the Home Risk Rating (ACR). Data collection occurred in April and May of 2010 through semi-structured interviews with 13 nurses. For the analysis we adopted the Collective Subject Discourse. Reports emerged of two themes: perception and potential fragility of the ACR and the ACR. The possibilities were: faster service to users who are health and acute health problems that require immediate intervention, the lack of physical space and materials are some of the weaknesses, among the difficulties signal the lack of reference and cross reference with consequent accumulation users of the service, interfering with quality of care, as well as the satisfaction of nurses in the Emergency Department.
