Physical education is emerging in the field of mental health in order to contribute to the therapeutic process of users of mental health services, such as the Centers for Psychosocial Care (CAPS). In this work our objective was to analyze the meanings that users of CAPS, located in Porto Alegre / RS, attributed to the workshop of soccer that took place there. The research is of a qualitative nature and draws on ethnographic perspective. One of the facts that emerged from the workshop of soccer, and it deserved greater attention to analysis, the active participation of users in many moments of the workshop. This increased participation has enabled the participants interesting moments of ownership, little experienced by them in their life histories.
