The objective was to analyze the academic production on women coaches and sports managers, based on a systematic literature review. Fifteen articles were included and six categories emerged from the thematic analysis: a) characteristics of the studies; b) profile of women leaders; c) quantitative analysis; d) barriers encountered by women leaders; e) positioning of women who occupy leadership positions; f) career projection. Quantitative studies observed the male predominance in the sports and qualitative research demonstrates the main causes and consequences of this phenomenon, such as the socially constructed power relations between genders and the barriers identified by these women.
