Abstract

The aim was analyze the trajectory of Physical Education (PE) Research Group (RG) in Brazil, and characterize its distribution (state and regions), and its distribution by research line (school, health and sports). A parameterized search at the DGOB Lattes was made. The RG were allocated in the principal research area. Since 1993 increase 1858.8% the number of PE RG. Higher concentration were found in region southeast (n=250), and South (n=181) in São Paulo (n=126) state and Paraná (72). Higher number of RG were found in Sport (n=247), follow by school (n=122) and health (n=113). Gradual growth in RG was observed, excepted between 2016 and 2021, presenting high number in southeast region, and at Sport theme. Incentive is needed to nucleation of GPs in regions with lower numbers.
