This work has the objective to present a mapping of street racing groups in the district of Porto, in Portugal. It seeks to link this mapping to the scope of the history of street racing, making considerations about the conditions of overcoming oneself, and the "look of the other". It reflects on how the desire to overcome and the "look of the other" act in the performance of (the) runners(as). It highlights the running events as constitutive of the groups' practice. The methodology is composed of Documentary Research, which has as its source sites and social network sites, associated with the technique of observation of urban spaces where the practice of street running is concentrated. It concludes that belonging to street racing groups is a driving factor of practice.
