ASPECTS ON THE SPORTS, COMMERCIALISATION AND SPECTACULARIZATION OF ELECTRONIC GAMES

Electronic sports have become a relevant sport practice, both in their organization in the professional sphere, and in the issues that arise in the academic field. In these terms, the objective of the article was to present clues about the process of sportivization, commodification and spectacularization of e-Sports. To account for the research, we have gathered sources from the exploratory method to characterize the development of electronic games as a new sports practice, specifically as a sports subfield, raising historical data regarding its evolution as a social practice, having as theoretical support the contributions of the sociology of Pierre Bourdieu, allied to the analyzes of Anthony Giddens like point of complementary theoretical support.
