ASSOCIATION BETWEEN SELF-ESTEEM LEVEL AND TIME OF SEDENTARY ACTIVITIES IN TEENAGERS

It was objectified associate the self-esteem level with time of sedentary activities in teenagers. The sample consisted of 98 individuals, with an average age of 16.7±1.2 years. It was used two instruments: Rosenberg Self-esteem Scale and the questionnaire IPAQ. It was employed measured of central tendency, of dispersion and the model of lineal regression, built through the Covariance Analysis (ANCOVA), with ? of 0.05. The ANCOVA obtained significant adjustment (F(4.777); p=0.003; adjusted R2=0.105), indicating that the low self-esteem elevated the sedentarism regarding high self-esteem (p=0.04; ?=87.54(CI95%=0.30-174.77) min./day). It was concluded that, the self-esteem was associate to the sedentarism, therefore, actions of integrated health will be able to be more efficient.Downloads
